Hidden Joys

You know, sometimes you realize when you become a parent that there are hidden joys of parenting that no one has ever told you about. Things that only parents could know or understand... and probably want to keep to themselves because they are such precious little treasures.
Joys are that so deeply hidden, so tightly wrapped up in the secret society of parenthood..

Let me give you an example:
Reese and I came in from the pool today, and I was stripping her down and got her Dora swimpants off (a process I have found is much easier if I just rip each side in half), turned to the sink to find a rubber band or some other equally forgettable task, and turned to the sight of Reese peeing all down her leg and onto the floor mat by the shower.
You see? A joy that only a parent can possibly understand.

Another:
A couple weeks ago (and this is approximately the third time this has happened), Niles went in to wake Reese up from her nap and walked in to find a little girl who resembled my sweet angelic daughter, covered head to toe in poop. That's right. poop. She must have realized, which strikes me as odd since she's been doing this for two and a half years, that sometimes sitting uncomfortably in a full diaper could signify a bigger problem, and she sought to rectify that. I mean, who can blame her?!
Oh... the utter joy.

Lastly:
A friend of mine came to the house and we were discussing the particular shirt she was wearing and how she felt it wasn't flattering for her bosoms, when Reese came in and shouted, "Boobs!", lifted up her shirt, and pointed to her own chest.
Seriously?!
